The term recovering lost data can refer to many things. In the best of circumstances one may be attempting to find and recover a few lost emails or photo files. Under tougher circumstances you may need to find a way to recover files from formatted hard drive storage. The latter scenario takes place when we reinstall our Windows or Mac operating system prior to taking the time to copy from our hard drive all of our stored files.
Of course when one’s computer is down and the obvious solution is to reinstall Windows so as to put the device back online, having the foresight to open the hard drive and copy away files is not very common. More often we cheerfully load Windows back onto our computer only to discover afterwards that we have erased all of our precious stored files. Fortunately programs such as Remo Software’s Windows Recovery are able to locate the original file structure of your stored files and reconstruct them with the original file names intact.
